Arrival in Jaipur
Airport/station pickup on arrival. Transfer to your hotel and check in. The evening is at leisure — explore the Pink City's colourful markets at your own pace. Enjoy a warm welcome dinner at a heritage restaurant featuring traditional Rajasthani cuisine. Overnight Jaipur.
Jaipur Sightseeing
A full day exploring Jaipur's royal legacy. Visit the magnificent Amber Fort (elephant ride optional), the regal City Palace with its museums and courtyards, and the astronomical marvel of Jantar Mantar (UNESCO World Heritage Site). Drive by the iconic Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds) for photographs. Afternoon: browse the vibrant local bazaars for gems, handblock textiles, blue pottery, and handicrafts. Overnight Jaipur.
Jaipur → Jodhpur (340 km, ~6 hrs)
Drive west to the Blue City of Jodhpur. En route, you may optionally stop at Ajmer-Pushkar — the sacred Brahma Temple and the holy Pushkar Lake are worth the short detour. Arrive Jodhpur by evening. After freshening up, take a leisurely walk through the blue-painted lanes of the Old City — the indigo hues glow beautifully at dusk. Overnight Jodhpur.
Jodhpur Sightseeing
Explore the Sun City's grandeur. Start with the awe-inspiring Mehrangarh Fort, one of India's largest forts, offering panoramic views over the ocean of blue rooftops below. Visit the delicate marble cenotaphs of Jaswant Thada, the opulent Umaid Bhawan Palace Museum (still partly a royal residence), and end the day at the bustling Sardar Market for spices, tie-dye fabrics, and street food. Jodhpur → Jaisalmer (290 km, ~5 hrs)
Drive through the golden Thar Desert landscape to the enchanting city of Jaisalmer. The highway offers sweeping desert vistas dotted with windmills and camel herds. On arrival, check in and head to the tranquil Gadisar Lake for a magical sunset — the ghats, temples, and reflections on the water create a timeless scene. Overnight Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer Fort & Sam Sand Dunes
Morning in the Golden City: explore the Jaisalmer Fort (a living fort with shops and homes inside), the intricately carved Patwon Ki Haveli, and the distinctive Salim Singh Ki Haveli. Afternoon transfer to Sam Sand Dunes (42 km) for one of Rajasthan's most spectacular experiences — a camel safari at sunset, followed by a traditional folk music and dance evening with local artists. Jaisalmer → Bikaner (330 km, ~5 hrs)
Drive northeast to Bikaner, the camel country. Explore the perfectly preserved Junagarh Fort — one of Rajasthan's most underrated forts, with stunning interiors and never conquered in its history. Visit the remarkable Karni Mata Temple at Deshnoke, home to thousands of sacred rats — a truly unique experience. Optional stop at the National Research Centre on Camel to see these "ships of the desert" up close. Overnight Bikaner.
Bikaner → Udaipur (scenic route, ~7–8 hrs)
An early start for the long but scenic drive south to Udaipur, the City of Lakes — widely regarded as one of India's most romantic cities. Cross the Aravalli range, passing through hilly terrain and quiet villages. On arrival, unwind at your hotel and take an evening boat ride on Lake Pichola, with views of the Lake Palace, Jag Mandir, and the City Palace glowing under the setting sun. Overnight Udaipur.
Udaipur Sightseeing & Departure
Spend the last morning soaking in Udaipur's elegance. Visit the City Palace Museum — Rajasthan's largest palace complex. Stroll through Saheliyon Ki Bari (Garden of the Maidens) and the promenades of Fateh Sagar Lake. Explore the folk art and cultural exhibits at Bagore Ki Haveli. Post lunch, transfer to Udaipur airport or railway station for your onward journey. Tour concludes with fond memories.
